Will my puncture holes from derma rolling 1mm ever smooth out?

I got derma rolling done over 2 months ago and the lady must of done it too aggressively and too big of a needle. I had no scars before hand and now I’m left with holes all over my face giving me a orange texture look. Also I had box scars round my chin area. I’m devastated has anyone ever done this before? I don’t really want to go through the path of laser as iv read many awful reviews

Thanks for your question.  We never recommend dermarollers because it causes unnecessary dermal trauma.  Microneedling is better because the needles travel perpendicularly to the skin surface.  If you think about the rollers, they go in at an angle, straighten up and come out in the opposite direction.  You end up with long slits instead of tiny pinpoints.  It is illegal to sell medical devices to the public.  These home use devices are dumbed down to not be medical grade (or effective).  BTW:  They don't write stories about all the planes that didn't crash today or the excellent laser treatments.  Yes, you can have a bad outcome from any procedure especially if the provider isn't qualified.  If you do your research, you should be able to find a competent provider that meets your needs.  Best of luck.

Yes, this is not uncommon. I have done a video on YouTube to explain how to roll safely. 1 mm is too aggressive. I think 0.25 to 0.5 mm is the sweet spot for efficacy and safety. Now, how to repair the damage? Take baseline photos. Use a silicone based gel at night. I do use gentle lasers such as the Clear and Brilliant or the 1927 Fraxel laser in this situation.
