Once all your wounds are healed you should be able to swim and go in the sauna. Following tissue expanders, hopefully this has occurred by now. If there are still any open wounds, or even scabs on the incision sites then I would suggest waiting until the skin is clearly healed.You should check with your own surgeon to double check they think it is ok too.All the best,Dean
Thanks for the question. Typically it takes 3-4 weeks for the wound to heal completely so that you can swim or enter the sauna. That said, you should have a checkup with your plastic surgeon before you decide to swim.

Based on the technique used I could guide you but without an examination and plan it is not possible to help you better. If you are Doing the surgery as a prophylactic measure then there is more time to discuss your cases and options.
Call your surgeon and notify him or her of these changes. Your surgeon will want to know of any changes in your incisions especially with expanders in place. Best wishes.
Most commonly the nerve related sensation loss is temporary and the sensation will return overtime. This takes months at times and rarely it will be a permanent loss of sensation. I hope this helps and good luck.
