I had a breast reduction 6 - 7 months ago under the NHS and went from a 32HH to a 32DD. I don't regret going forward with the operation at all, but I still have massive dysphoria and feel absolutely huge. I had wanted to go down to about a B cup. Is there any chance of a follow up surgery to make me smaller, because I'm really not coping with their size. And is there any chance this follow up could be done under the nhs again or would i have to get it done privately. What would this cost?
Answer: Second breast reduction Yes, it is certainly possible to get another reduction. Whether or not it would be covered by NHS will depend on their criteria so you will need to contact them. In terms of cost, those will vary from surgeon to surgeon so impossible to say. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Answer: Second breast reduction? Yes, repeat breast reduction can certainly be performed. If you have a different plastic surgeon perform the operation, it will be helpful for him/her to have a copy of your previous operative report. it will be important for you to communicate your goals carefully as well. In my practice, I asked patients to use as many “visual aids”, such as goal photographs, during the communication process. Avoid the use of subjective terms; for example, "B cup”… these terms can be confusing, since they may mean different things to different people. Once you have communicated your goals, your chosen plastic surgeon will be able to provide you with a more precise plan, including specific technique to be utilized. Your plastic surgeon will be a better guide when it comes to possibility of coverage through the NHS. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to breast reduction surgery concerns), helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Cup size and breast reduction surgery I always tell patients before breast reduction surgery that I will make them as small as I can safely make them, but it is not possible to customize size, or sometimes, get below the D cup ranges. Safe breast reduction surgery and the small scar technique I use, cannot eliminate as much tissue as some people may want with one surgery. Depending on the experience of your surgeon, secondary breast reduction surgery can be very successful. We do not live in the same insurance environment/country, but in my practice, anything smaller than a DDD often does not get considered medically necessary, so be prepared to accept cosmetic pricing. It is often also a great idea to live with your surgical result for a full year before considering revisions or secondary surgery. Maybe try to enjoy the progress you have made so far and see how you feel after one year? Best wishes!!
