If a piece of skin is cut away on the nose, can the tip be raised and stay raised? (Photos)

It's one of those things that makes perfect mechanical sense when you think about it, but when you actually try it, it doesn't work.
The problem is that the cartilages in the tip of the nose are trying to hold the tip down, and they are very strong, and if they are not changed, they will over-power the work you did by removing the skin, and the tip will stretch back down again. It'd probably take just a month for that to happen. Maybe less.
Further, with all the tension on the scar, the scar would stretch and depress, and would be just outrageously ugly, right in the middle of your nose.
