Can a high canine be fixed without braces?

Please see the below picture that shows my high left canine. What are the chances this can be fixed? Are braces the only solution? I prefer to avoid them. Even if the canine is high, that is not the thing that is bothering me, it is the gap that is circled that is bothering me, what could the fix be for that?
