Profound and CO2 at the same time?

Question

Hi I would like to rejunevate my skin and get it tighter with younger looking texture. I have considered fractional co2 laser as well as profound. I have heard that they can be performed together. When this is the case, is the laser co2 used with the same intensity than it is when used alone ? (I've seen that laser co2 can be used with very different intensity and that some practicians even put their patients under general anesthesia to use it full force.) Thank you very much in advance !

This is a great question. Profound and CO2 are both great treatments and work wonderful when combined. However, I would alternate these two treatments opposed to doing the two treatments on the same day. The benefit of doing one treatment at a time would be the intensity used by the technician. In the long run you would have getter results from using stronger settings. Doing these two treatments together would be a ton for your skin to tolerate. Good luck!

Profound RF is a treatment that heats the skin from inside through a bunch of needles that penetrate skin in each pulse. CO2 fractional laser heats the skin from outside and laser beams go through the skin to deep parts . so, both of these procedures do heat the skin, although one of them is inside out and other is outside in. Profound is very strong and I don’t recommend to get co2 laser at the same session but if you want to do both in one session, the co2 laser setting should be at minimum.

Hi Charming, I have combined Profound RF treatment with fractionated CO2 laser (from light settings to pedal to the metal maximum settings) with safe and effective results under local anesthesia in the office. We make our patients very comfortable with a tablet of Xanax, and a weight appropriate dose of Demerol and antihistamine.  I also usually add PRP and Sculptra injections at the same session to maximize patient results and satisfaction.  This is combined treatment should only be performed by an expert experienced physician.  This not, not a commodity whose result is the same by all practitioner's.  Choose your treating physician most carefully to ensure your safety!  Good luck and be well.
