How long can I use Clobex spray for alopecia areata?

I am using Clobex spray twice daily for alopecia areata. It is three weeks now and I starting to develop mild acne. How long should the treatment be continued safely? No regrowth after three weeks. Dermatologist didn't prescribe the duration. Pharmacist asked to stop after three weeks. Should I continue until regrowth?

I recommend following up with the prescribing Doctor about usage and duration recommendations. Prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation are great non-invasive options. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

You'll simply want to give your dermatologist's office a call and figure out how long they want you to use it for. It's important you know exactly how to use these medications.  Generally speaking provided there are periods of time that a patient takes a break from these mediations, the use can be many weeks. For example, the spray may be used daily for 5 weeks followed by a 3 weeks break or the spray is used 5 days per week with the weekends off. 
Clobex spray does not work for everyone with AA. Speak to your dermatologist about how they want you to use the medication and when your next follow up appointment is. If a response is not present after 8-10 weeks, steroid injections or other treatments may be considered.
