Hi, Is it better to fisrt treat with EnerJet (for new collagen syntheis and thickening of the skin) and then do HA filler treatment of should I do it the otherway round? First do the filler and than treat with EnerJet? Thank you
Answer: EnerJet and Filler timing. We will have patients wait three weeks after Botox or fillers before using another device or peel. sometimes we will do the peel first and then have the patient do the Botox or injectable. Remember that patients should be off of things that can cause the blood to be, "thin", and cause bleeding or brusing. (i.e. aspirin, ibuprofen, ginko, etc;).It is important to communicate with your experienced injector and be on the "same page" as to the desired result. Please have reasonable expectations. Answer: Enerjet Dear Taltweety, In general, it is usually preferable to perform the volume HA injectable to achieve facial shape and structure first. One of the best products for the malar zygomatic jawline, smile and perioral areas is Juvéderm® Voluma™. Perlane®, Restylane® and Radiesse® may also suffice in these areas and the undereye region is often best built up with Restylane®. As a plastic surgeon who performs facelifts, I have also been performing injectable soft tissue fillers and Botox® for almost 20 years. I do prefer the microcannula technique and facial shaping can make an astounding difference, not only appearance and youth, but also in the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles. If, following volumization, the superficial texture of the skin still requires enhancement, I would then proceed to EnerJet™ injections in combination with fractional technologies, either fractional radiofrequency resurfacing or fractional laser resurfacing (either light or heavy) in combination with intense pulsed-light for discolouration. This multimodal approach to your skin rejuvenation should give you optimal results. As one of the physicians who has helped pioneer this technology in Canada and the world, I do find EnerJet™ very useful, both on its own and in the combination therapies listed above. At the time of consultation, we can determine the best strategy and sequence of treatments to optimize your outcomes. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck. Sincerely, R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto
