Is the Septum Supposed to Look Red?

Question

I looked into my septum and it looked reddish and pinkish at the back. Just wondering if this is normal? For the septum to look bloody though there's no discharge. It's been four months post septorhinoplasty.

It's exceedingly difficult to get an accurate intranasal exam without a strong light source and the appropriate instruments. It's best to follow up with your surgeon and share your concerns with him/her. At 4 months your septum should appear pretty much as it did before surgery, only straighter.

If you have concerns about your post-operative healing, I strongly recommend a visit to your surgeon. Without nosebleeds, increased pain, fevers, headaches, or any symptoms at all, It is likely that everything is just fine, and that what you are seeing is normal for your post-operative healing stage. Have a specialist take a look!

Dear PandaBoy, I would suggest a trip to your surgeons office for a proper intra nasal examination and he/she will tell you if your tissues are looking healthy.
