Usually it is not the question if a procedure can be done for a patient of a certain age but if the procedure is appropriate for that particular patient. In other words, is that patient a candidate for the treatment. Liposuction and CoolSculpting are not procedures that are replacements for diet and exercise. However, if the primary care provider feels that the person is doing what they can to limit fat intake and the patient is eating a healthy diet and not losing fat despite exercise, then maybe, that patient would be a candidate. Hi, as far as the technology goes, CoolSculpting doesn't care if the fat is on an 18 year old or a 60 year old, but most practices are cautious in offering cosmetic surgery to teenagers. The body goes through significant changes from the teens through the twenties. Consult you doctor, but we would counsel against having most cosmetic procedures as a teenager. Best of luck.
Typically we prefer the patient has stopped growing to produce optimal results with coolsculpting. As most teenagers are still growing up to a certain age, unwanted pockets of fat can change in size and therefore alter one's appearance.
There is no firm age limit for coolsculpting. However, a patient must be a candidate and be able to provide informed consent. At 18 you may be able to be a candidate and provide informed consent. Patients who are younger should have parental consent, but still may not be a candidate as their body has not fully developed.
