I’m two day post op breast reduction and I knew there would be swelling but it seems excessive. It’s reaching my clavicals and almost making it a little hard to breathe. Does this look normal?

Please call your PS now. Based upon your photo It is possible that you have a Hematoma. Your PS will be the best person to communicate with in at this early post operative time.

Swelling can occur after this procedure. Typically swelling improves after six weeks. If the swelling persists after six weeks it may be advisable to contact your plastic surgeon. Swelling is oftentimes most noticeable after two days.

Your swelling is unilateral which may indicate hematoma.  Contact your plastic surgeon as this may be an indication for drainage as well as evaluation.

After viewing your photos, the swelling appears to be only on the right side.    This is usually the case with a hematoma.    I would recommend calling your plastic surgeon right away as you may need to have this evacuated in the operating room.
