The Sublative Laser is effective on all skin types and tones, Sublative rejuvenation is a deeper treatment that fights fine lines and wrinkles, eradicates acne scars, and improves overall texture. Sublative rejuvenation harnesses the power of energy currents to penetrate the skin and stimulate collagen production (while keeping the outer layer of skin intact). Depending on the selected course of treatment, downtime can vary from two to five days—which can be customized to fit your schedule and your needs.
Thank you for your question.eMatrix is very effective, tolerable in its pain profile, during and after treatments. There is no downtime with this procedure in my experience, except when very high settings are used.
Sublative rejuvenation with the eMatrix is a very effective procedure to tighten and rejuvenate photoaged skin as well as to improve mild to moderate wrinkles and acne scars and appears to be relatively risk-free. Treatment can cause mild discomfort which can be minimized by applying a topical anesthetic prior to the procedure. Redness or swelling can occur within several hours. Patients may experience some roughness as tiny scabs develop that mirror the electrode pattern of the treatment device. Red dots on the skin last for a day or two. Pure mineral makeup can be immediately applied. No special post-procedure care is required. A key advantage to this treatment is the minimal downtime. Several studies have shown that the eMatrix did not cause any of the complications that can be seen with the more aggressive resurfacing procedures such as increased pigmentation, acne flares, infection, prolonged inflammation, or scarring. It has been proven safe to use for all skin types. The standard treatment course is 3 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart but is customized based on the severity of the skin condition and your objectives.

Both eMatrix and Fraxel Resurfacing systems do create some permanent changes in skin tissue. How much is noticed by you (or others) depends on your initial "problem" and the energy levels applied. Fraxel is a laser and eMatrix is not a laser as the energy type used is not the same...
I specifically brought the Ematrix into my practice for patients with acne scars, particularly if they are Black or have type 4 or darker skin. It is a fabulous laser. It takes several treatments to minimize scars - anywhere from 3 to 5 treatments - but it is safe and effective. We have had g...

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with eMatrix treatments. It's not uncommon for some patients to experience changes in skin tone, including the development of melasma, after such procedures. Your current regimen, as recommended by your dermatologist, includes a variety of products that...
I'm sorry to hear about your distressing experience. E-Matrix laser is indeed a treatment option for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). This laser uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production and promote skin healing, which can help reduce the appearance of PIH. However,...
