I had a very normal hairline around a year ago and since my anxiety disorder started it has unevenly receded a bit. Could telogen effluvium have cause it?
Answer: Telogen Effluvium Usually Telogen Effluvium is diffuse, with hair loss over the entire scalp. Your hair loss (without photos) appears to be patterned, and is more likely due to male pattern hair loss. Photos would obviously be helpful.

Answer: TE and hairline No, a TE would not cause a change in the hairline in the manner described, especially when it's uneven. Hairline maturation and genetic hair loss (and a range of other conditions) however would cause such a change. Please see a physician for guidance.
