Question

When I smile with teeth much more teeth are showing on the right hand side of my face. If I smile without teeth muscle lines and uneven dimpling appears. I’d like to have an even tooth show and a smooth appearance around my mouth when I smile without teeth. I've had braces twice and the orthodontists said my bite is aligned. I do chew on the right side mostly and my masseter is much stronger on this side. Thanks!

In short, the best option would be jaw surgery. You have what we call a "yaw" which means your jaw kicks out to one side. In your case, its the right. Double jaw surgery is a major procedure, but it would be a permanent fix to your facial asymmetry. If you have not already, I would schedule a consult with a craniomaxillofacial surgeon for further assessment. Getting some imaging done would be a good place to start and allows a provider to see your actual bone structure and create a plan moving forward. If you are against having jaw surgery, you could consider masseter Botox to help reduce some of the muscle on the right side, improving some of the asymmetry. Jawline contouring may also be an option, but I would not do that until you are sure jaw surgery is not an option for you.
