What is the next step after going through Invisalign on my upper teeth?

It is very wise and reccommended by most Invisalign providers to be seen every 6-8 weeks to check on Invisalign progress.  Things can happen including teeth not moving as desired and we do not want problems compounding.  Hopefully you are receiving passive aligners for your completed arch.  Also regular checks allow for questions and the feel of direction you desire.  Tell your dentist you want this. if you are COMPLETELY SATISFIED with the result  then ask your orthodontist to make you some PASSIVE ALIGNERS.  These are to be worn , while completing the treatment in your other arch,, to make sure that your teeth do not relapse. At the end of treatment, you should receive retainers for both arches

Many times the tooth movement in one arch will be completed a few trays ahead of the opposing arch. It sounds like your upper teeth have moved into place and you still have a little more to go on the bottom teeth. Once the bottom invisalign trays are complete your dentist will probably see you to remove the composite from your teeth. At that appointment your dentist will also discuss retention. You will likely wear a retainer at night so your teeth do not become crooked again. When my patients have an invisalign treatment where one arch finishes before the other I usually advise them to continue to wear their final tray on the arch that finishes first while the remaining trays on the other arch are used.
