Is CoolSculpting or Ultherapy better for tightening under the neck and jowls? (Photos)

Question

I am 53 and have a small bit of underneck fat and some wrinkling in the middle of my neck, and my jowls are starting to sag. I don't want to get both procedures, which a dermatologist suggested, so I would like to know which will tighten my skin better and last longer?

A combination approach would give the most improvement with Ultherapy for neck skin tightening. I recommend Ultherapy with radiofrequency treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP, and/or Sculptra to get increased collagen, tightening and improved skin tone. Coolsculpting is the go to procedure for non invasive fat reduction. Although the results are effective in this area, it has no advantage of skin tightening. The best outcome for your concerns would be a combination treatment of fat reduction with skin tightening. There is a procedure called Profound that would treat both these issues that involves microneedling and radio frequency. This is a state of the art laser procedure that will eliminate submental fat while tightening the lower face and neck simultaneously.

Thank you for your message! CoolSculpting is a great option to help get rid of stubborn fat underneath the chin though really will not help much with skin laxity. It will not help with jowling either. Radiofrequency procedures, such as Ultherapy or Thermage are great options to help your body make collagen which ideally will lift and tighten the skin!
