Is it necessary to shave OR wait for the bleached facial hair to wear off before IPL hair removal?

I would like to know if 1. it is necessary to shave my cheek & upperlips for the treatment because shaving has always made my hair thicker on my body 2. I always bleach my facial hair so is it necessary to wait for the hair to turn black again or can I just shave it to go on with the treatment because the hair under the root remains unbleached/black. I'm asking this because I will have to hide at home for weeks if I wait for all the facial hair to turn back black again. Thank you for the help!

Great question but Unfortunately No, Lasers will not see hair that has been colored, it only targets the hair follicle itself, so its best to shave the area

Laser hair removal targets the root of the hair.  Lasers will not eliminate light hair, however, hair on the surface of the skin could cause the skin to heat up.
