I got Botox in my anterior belly throat 5 days ago, it's bruised and swollen, I look like a bullfrog. Is this normal? (Photos)

Neurologistics used it to help me not squint so hard with my eyes. This would be about the 10th time ive received botox. However the 1st time I've ever been injected in the anterior belly throat area to try to suppress clicking noises & making my throat bullfrog out. I immediately got a bruise but now it looks like my throat is puffing even more like a bullfrog. It did nothing for the clicking. Are my muscles going to stay bulging or is this temporary. Help! I feel insecure

You may have some swelling, which can occur with any type of injection. It takes 1-2 weeks for final results. If you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your injector. Best, Dr. Emer

You do have a bruise and some swelling which can occur when a large muscle group such as anterior belly of the digastric is being treated. Give it one to two weeks for the effect to become visible. It may take a little longer for the swelling to come down since there is a bruise. Applying warm, moist compresses will help with the bruising and swelling. Good luck from New York City
