I hate this bone graft. Can I have it removed?

8 weeks out from bone graft for a failed root canal. The graft is more painful than the tooth. Dr. Said it looks ok and pain should gradually ease. Now I have food lodged in it that I can not swish out. The food seems to be causing even more pain.
