I have medium to severe pain on my upper back teeth, yes with ice cold drinks; randomly during the night, too. The pain radiates to upper jaw and ears. They have been crowns with no root canal. Any advice?

Hi:Most likely the crowns have to be adjusted. It is important when checking bite issues the crowns are also checked in multiple movements (side to side and forward) while the teeth are touching.Best,Dr. Maddahi
I would suggest an appointment with your provider- it is possible that the bite on those 2 teeth may need a little adjustment. If the bite is not quite right, i can cause discomfort, and the extra pressure on the teeth, any actually make them feel a little loose.
Yes, these anatomical grooves are completely normal. It does not only provide a natural look, but these grooves actually aid in chewing and breaking down food to make it easier to digest and swallow. Hope this was helpful to you.
