I had IPL on a sunspot on my cheek 1 day ago. I scratched the top of the spot off while sleeping. Any suggestions? (photos)

Area is now pink and raw looking. Did not bleed. Should I cover it with a bandaid to protect it? Should I put anything on it (aloe? or something else?)

Jelly-A one-time blast type of laser treatment usually does not work and may even risk worsening the mottled red and brown discoloration of Poikiloderma.  For this skin condition, I recommend a series of 3-5 BBL (Broadband Light) treatments spaced at 3 week intervals.Good luck!

Thank you for your question in regards to IPL.It is important to avoid direct sunlight two weeks before and after IPL treatments. Using a SPF that blocks UVA & UVA rays with a high Zinc level is also important. Continue to reapply your sunscreen and wear a hat to avoid direct sun exposure. To be...

If the skin immediately turns grey/purple this is usually a sign of too high of settings and skin burning.  This will likely lead to blisters or scabs in the next few days and will require wound care .  Best, Dr. Emer.
