I would recommend starting with orthodontic treatment first and once the teeth/bite are at the correct position, have the gum contouring, you would not want to move teeth once your gums have been contouring.

Thanks for sending your question and pictures. It appears that you have a deep bite which means your upper front teeth go over your lower front teeth too much. By having orthotodontics this can be eliminated which also will allow the gum tissues to appear differently and the gummy smile to improve. Once completed if you still desire to improve the esthetics of the gums then options of gum re contouring are available to reshape the gum lines as well.
