What is the best type of retainer to use after Invisalign?

Question

Vivera, plastic, or hawley? I completed invisalign treatment with a general dentist about 2 years ago. Great results. He insisted I get the Vivera retainers and replace them every few months. The dentist has since gone out of business (completely abandoned his practice), so I have no idea how to get new retainers. My new dentist suggested a hawley retainer, but he reports that he doesn't have much experience with invisalign. Please help!

Hi, thanks for sending your question. The best retainers system in my opinion is the Vivera system with Invisalign. Since you have 4 retainers, you have excellent reassurance. You may choose to alternate by wearing one retainer at night and another during the day time. Also the flexibility to have multiple retainers in case something happens to another one is great.

Each set of Vivera should last up to a year. No need to get a new one every couple of months. Find an Invisalign provider near you to get your Vivera by just going to Invisalign.com. I highly recommend Vivera for post Invisalign treatment. Hawley is old school and uncomfortable to wear.

I highly rec o mend the Vivera retainers. Although your dentist is no longer practicing, you should find another dentist that does Invisalign. They can even transfer your case to the new provider. A new scan or impressions can be sent, if you feel that your current retainer doesn’t fit properly, otherwise new ones can be ordered right from you old account.
