Is it safe to get Sculptra with Rhumatoud Arthritis?

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am considering getting sculptra. I have seen many things online saying I should not get it because I am at high risk for something. Currently my rheumatologist says I am considered to be in remission because I am on a biologic. I do not get flareups anymore. I have not been on my biologic for about two months. Currently, I am taking some peptides to help with inflammation and to help my immune system. Would it be OK if I get sculpture or is there things I need to consider before getting the procedure?

Sculptra can be considered in patients with rheumatoid arthritis when the disease is truly stable or in remission, but there are important nuances. The main concerns are infection risk and delayed inflammatory reactions, particularly in people who are immunosuppressed or have active autoimmune disease. Being off your biologic for about two months may lower infection risk, but some immune effects can persist, and peptides are not well studied for immune modulation. There is no strong evidence that RA in remission alone is a strict contraindication to Sculptra, but careful timing, excellent injection technique, proper dilution, and close follow‑up are critical. I recommend confirming ongoing remission with your rheumatologist, ensuring there are no active infections or dental issues, and having the treatment performed by an injector experienced with Sculptra in autoimmune patients. If these boxes are checked, treatment can often be done safely, with awareness of the small but real risk of delayed nodules or inflammation.
