Double bunionectomy minimally invasive surgey MIS - what is the healing period like? (Photos)
I have am mostly a walker/jogger and experience pretty bad pain in both feet despite orthopedic inserts. I am also insecure about the appearance. The bunions I have are moderate and because I have them as a hereditary result I know that they only look and feel worse with age. After doing some research, I saw that there is a way to treat these with minimally invasive options. Here is my predicament. I am wanting to start a family over this year as I am already turning 37 in the next few months. I know that there is some recovery time with traditional bunionectomies, and there is even some recovery time with minimally invasive options. not to mention with either method, I believe most surgeons recommend doing one foot recovering and then doing the next foot. I am afraid if I am on that path, it will continue to push me into a later age of getting pregnant, which I want to try to avoid for obvious reasons. And if I just try to get pregnant and have a baby first, that obviously wouldn’t be ideal with recovery going up and down the stairs and not being able to bear weight taking care of a baby . So looking for general surgeon advice and if this is something they would perform under the circumstances to get it done faster and healed? How long does it take with traditional vs minimally invasive? Pros and cons? When I was seen recently it was with a doc who didnt perform MIS so he recommended me to another doc mentioning I was a good candidate.
