Will Amoxicillin cause photosensitivity?

Question

I take it for acne 3 times a day. I hate the idea of having to choose between getting the laser hair removal done and having the acne return. Amoxicillin is the only antibiotic so far that has worked, and I also tried many birth controls and topical creams unsuccessfully before now. I do think I can usually go about a week of not taking the pills before I notice the acne return. Just want some advice before moving forward. Thanks!

Yes, you can have laser hair removal while taking these medications, but it may increase photosensitivity. It's always recommended to limit your sun exposure when undergoing laser hair removal,and to limit tanning 2-4 weeks before and after treatments. Thank you for your question. Hormones create hair follicles and for the face your hormones are the strongest on the body. Your hair grows in three different phases and it is required for you to have a laser hair removal treatment done every 4 weeks to catch the hair in the growth phase. You will notice your hair thin out and the growth cycle slow down after each treatment. After the hair is completely gone after 6-8 treatments it is recommended to have a maintenance session done every 6 months to a year. Please consult with a physican before having any treatments done .
