What should I do if my retainer doesn't fit perfectly?

When I went in to pick up my retainer (finally finished with Invisalign) the bottom retainer doesn't fit perfect on the back left. The retainer floats above the last tooth. The orthodontist said that it was normal (and not a problem) and the retainer is only for the front teeth. This doesn't seem right and it seems like he just doesn't want to make a new impression. Is there anything that can be done?

Retainers should fit all your teeth, there may be a distortion to the retainers.  I would call back the office and tell them that you rather have a retainer that fits all around not just the front teeth. Good luck!

You need to call your orthodontist again and ask for a new retainer. It is NOT normal to have your retainer “float” above your last molar. That’s ridiculous that he or someone at his office would say “that’s normal”.
