Laser hair removal vs electrolysis post male facelift, coarse dark hair, skintype 3/4

Question

Post facelift patient, male, skin type 3/4, with coatse dark hair. My incison was beind the tragus so sideburn came close to ear. What is better and safer: laser (YAG, diode, etc) or electrolysis? Is it true that laser is just a permenant reduction but not a permanent removal?

If you are truly a skin type 3 or asian skin type 4, you would need laser hair removal with an alex beam not yag.  Yag would be too long a beam for your skin type.  Permanent laser hair removal takes an average of six sessions on a monthly basis for anything above the waist.

As long as the hair is dark (not gray or blonde), I usually recommend laser hair removal over electrolysis to my patients. In people with darker skin types, I recommend the Nd: YAG laser.
