Thanks for your question and photo. Yes, the lesion is most likely a cyst, but your dermatologist would be able to determine what it is when they do an exam in person. They probably will be able to use local anesthetic in the area, do a small procedure called a punch biopsy or punch excision, and sew the skin back together. Depending on how big the underlying cyst is, you will probably heal just fine and not have a protrusion in the area if the cyst is completely removed. Please see an expert, and best of luck!
