Ortho wants me to switch Invisalign trays every 7 days?

Question

My ortho wants me to switch my aligner trays every 7 days. I've read that most people recommend 2 weeks and that going faster can cause loose tooth roots. I don't want that! At my original appointment, he said I would change them out every 2 weeks for 14 months. Today, when I showed up to get them he changed it to 32 weeks and every 7 days. Should I trust my orthodontist's recommendation? I've been thinking about just leaving them in for 10... I figure that won't hurt anything. I'm in no rush.

Invisalign was created and shown to be proven effective by changing aligners every 2 weeks. Although some auxiliary techniques similar to propel have been invented to be shown to expedite movements slightly faster than 2 weeks, for the majority of invisalign cases, changing of the aligners every 2 weeks should be the rule. Failure to  switch aligners sooner can complicate and possibly slow down your treatment as well. Feel free to discuss with your orthodontist why he is recommending to change your aligners sooner!All the best.

Best to go two weeks unless you are using an accelerating appliance such as OrthoPulse or Acceledent or a surgical technique like Propel.  If you are in no hurry, slower is better.  Don't worry about your roots.  Invisalign not strong enough to cause problem unless you changed daily.
