Can I change my Invisalign trays 2 days early when I'm supposed to be changing them every 10 days?

I'm on tray 1 of my Invisalign treatment that's suppose to change every 10 days. I accidentally left my retainers at a restaurant and I am on day 8.5. I put in my second set of retainers because I didn't think 2 days or so would make a difference. The top fits perfect but the bottom is a little tight. It's Sat night and my dentist isn't open until Mon morning so ordering a new tray would take a few days and I'm afraid for my teeth to move. Should I continue wearing my second set of trays?

Hi, thanks for sending your question. Keep in mind that you should be wearing your aligners for 2 weeks=14 days. Changing the aligners sooner can result in your teeth not tracking properly and can complicate your treatment. All the best.

One or two days should be alright this time, but in future we recommend you wear your trays the allotted time as instructed by your dentist. I think you made the right decision by moving forward. We recommend to our patients they should remove their trays in their car before entering a restaurant so they're less likely to lose them!

It is probably OK to wear your week 2 aligners a couple of days early but just remember that your teeth may be a little more sore and/or the aligner may not fit ideally for a few days more.
