Help! Was my PRK surgery unsuccessful?

Question

Today marks 8 days since my surgery. I had a post-op follow-up and my vision still tested at 20/150, same as my previous post-op follow-up after removing the bandaged contact lens 4 days after surgery. Should I be worried that there hasn't been improvement and that my vision is still pretty bad and not at all yet in functional range? Is it normal to only see 20/150 after one week or was I possibly undercorrected?

Eight days is far too soon to know
what your final visual result will be following PRK.  Most changes occur within the first 3 months, and it could
take up to 6 months for full stabilization of vision.  Be patient and allow your eye to heal.  It is entirely possible for you to be
20/150 a week out and 20/20 a month out from surgery.

At eight days post op your eyes are still healing and it is much too early to be worried. Higher levels of prescription can take quite awhile to come around so I am assuming that was the case here. I expect that this will come around for you in the next few weeks.
