I have these deep indentations going down my cheeks, taking in mind im only 16, i consider it a deformity as no one else has this and i always look tired. Is there any resolution to this considering my age?
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Correction of mid cheek furrows, grooves. Cheek augmentation While you are focusing on the grooves, the expert eye notices the grooves are on cheeks that are relatively non projecting. These are called mid cheek furrows or grooves and are common in young children who still have baby cheek bones. The furrows diminish as the cheek bone grows later in childhood, which has the effect of tightening the overlying soft tissue. Unfortunately, with aging and developing laxity of the cheek tissues, the grooves reappear. In your photographs you can see that the bone does not project more than the soft tissue below. Whereas models are chosen because of the strength of their cheek bones and have a concavity of the soft tissues below. The answer is to enlarge the cheeks using cheek implants that are like bone, not soft tissue fillers that can exaggerate the situation. To change you cheek bone structure is exciting as it not only diminishes the lines, but also glamorises your overall appearance. Other people will really notice this. Biologically, the ideal time to improve the cheek bone structure is at a younger age, as you then have the benefit of the better structure. You may have noticed that people with good cheek bone structure not only look healthier, they also have slower aging. This is because the ligaments and muscles of the cheeks are attached to the bone here and now better support the cheek. With proper cheek augmentation you would also have this benefit as if your bones were naturally this size and shape The subject of what is the best cheek implant for you and how it should be done is another story, basically, silicone, porex or coral, which is hydroxyapatite. Understandably, your parents and others will be concerned that you are too young to be undergoing this surgery. I have reservations also, but only because of your age. It requires a certain maturity to realistically contemplate all the consequences of having this surgery. However, you could well wait until you are 18 without it worsening and then be a serious candidate for proper cheek augmentation for a permanent benefit.
