Porcelain veneers can need re-cementing if the bonding material is defective or if the tooth wasn't prepped enough or if there is a bite issue where the teeth are hitting together in a less than optimal way. In the even that any of these things are wrong, you may have your veneer come off. However, veneers should generally last 20 + years before coming off or needing to be redone as long as proper dental hygiene is followed. I generally guarantee my veneer and crown work for 10 years from date of placement. In a decade of practicing cosmetic dentistry, I've only had one patient have a problem with veneers coming off and that was due to faulty bonding materials from the manufacturer. I'm just saying that if it happens, it doesn't mean that your dentist is in the wrong, but is extremely rare for most of us. Veneers are what I do, so "Follow" me if you have more questions about them.Sarah Thompson, DMD

Constant recementing typically means that the restoration needs to bereplaced, the cement was wrong, or something else is going on. You may need toexplore some other options.
When a dental restoration fits correctly and accurately re-cementing should not be an issue pretty much ever. Most of my restorations never come out and we give a 5 year warranty against failure. If crowns falling out is an issue the dentist should remake or maybe it's time fro a change. Martin Gorman,DDS
