How much does custom staining for a dental implant crown cost?

Most cosmetic dental work is done on a "cash basis" and not in an insurance driven environment (PPO, etc).  You will find that the crown fee in a "fee-for-service" office will be higher, but "all inclusive" to avoid "nickle and dime" fees.  PPO offices can't afford to give the same results with the fees the insurance industry imposes, so customization will be a separate fee to offset the lab fees (routine crown fees can a mere 20% of a fee that a cosmetic lab charges.  When the lab cost is 5 TIMES higher, the increased fee is passed on to the patient).How much is the fee for customization?  It will vary wildly, from $50 to $200+.  Per tooth.  The method to customize will depend on the material used for the crown.

Your shade and tint is unique to you and sometimes it is outside the realm of stock color shades.The cost shouldn't be a lot compared to what you have already invested but may be needed to complete the last and most important issue, the final cosmetic result. I make and stain all of my crowns but do use dental labs for other ceramics and your dentist will probably make photographs to help guide lab techs to spend extra time with your crown.  Do not short this last procedure as you will be staring at that tooth for many years and it may need just a little extra attention.
