Hello Christin. Consumers tend to get very focused on the laser bring used rather than the practitioner doing the treatment. The reality is that even if the same exact laser is used for the same treatment and performed by two different practitioners, you can have dramatically different results. The reason is that lasers don't think for themselves and the way the procedure is performed will determine what kind of results you achieve. It's very likely that the prices are different not because of the laser being used (they are similar) but because of the person doing the procedure. This does not necessarily mean a better laser practitioner costs more. That's not always the case. The best way for you to help ensure great results is to get a referral from a friend, look at before and after photos and check online reviews. Best of luck.
Pixel and IPL are my preferred combination. I often perform both at the same time for more dramatic results with less total downtime. I find that patients can get a dramatic improvement in texture and correction of dyspigmentation. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
I’d schedule halo and bbl all day long. While we may consider ipl and bbl basically the same, BBL has features that make it safer and more powerful than many of the other IPL devices. The cooling is optimized which makes it less likely to burn your skin, the protocols for treatment are excellent. The list goes on. Halo and pixel aren’t in the same category. Halo is way more powerful and to get the result from pixel that you might with halo you would need considerable healing time. Halo and bbl are going to give you a week of healing but it’s painless and you can cover it with makeup. For a combination treatment for fine lines and sun damage halo and bbl, in my opinion, is the best available.

Great question! Any true laser or IPL/BBL will be safe, although you should discuss the specifics with your physician. The real issue is what are you trying to improve in your skin? That should be the guiding thought when it comes to choosing your laser. In our practice, we've found the...
