Can I Receive Breast Implants While Being Overweight?

Question

I am 5'10 and weigh about 260. I was recently diagnosed with hypothroidism. My question is would I still be a canadite for breast implants? If so would they still look nice? Im a 38c but would love to be a DD. Ive also had 4 children... My boobs just dont look like boobs anymore :(

Thank you for the question.

	I would not suggest that you undergo breast augmentation surgery at this point.  You will be much better off contemplating breast surgery once you have reached a long-term stable weight. Hopefully,  control of your hypothyroidism will expedite your weight loss program. You may find that, with weight loss, additional surgery ( such as breast lifting) may be necessary.

	 You will find that most will experienced board certified plastic surgeons would not offer the operation to you at this point;  the risks associated with surgery are too great.

Thanks for raising this important issue.  There are 3 factors you need to consider.  1. Your hypothyroid status.  2 Your weight  3 Your breast size change.  You should consider BA in the long term - it's an elective procedure so you need to weigh up the benefits to you with the downsides of 1 and 2.  Best to get your thyroid stabilized ( and make sure there are no other health issues)  before BA.  If your weight is a long term problem and you are unlikely to make a significant change in the short term - there is no reason not to have the BA.  However, if you goal is to reduce your weight - then it is likely that- 1. your beasts will also reduce and 2. breasts are likely to droop more.  So you may be disappointed by the result because of size and drooping.  I would recommend setting yourself a target - say 6 months to get yourself prepared for your surgery.  Good luck!

I would suggest that you first stabilize your thyroid levels and work toward a healthy, stable weight before undergoing surgery.  The procedure you are considering is an elective procedure and you want to make sure that you are in good health to minimize your risk profile.  Good luck!
