Crown question. Can it made to be larger than the original tooth so that I can get more tooth mass?

It is likely you mean #2 is being crowned (number 1 is a wisdom tooth, and unless it is in the location of #2, it likely was removed). If you are trying to close a space, probably fine. While you CAN get it slightly bigger, you can't do by much. The tooth in front prevents some, as does the opposing. It CAN go more posterior or towards the cheek or roof of mouth, but this can lead to cheek/tongue biting or enter tongue space (airway issues).  Material selection matters, so bigger may break. The dentist treating you can explain YOUR situation better. 

Hello Tom Edwards, I'm not sure why you want it bigger? The simple answer is, yes the crown can be larger than what is currently there. However, your bite needs to be in consideration because if it's too big (high), issues will result. Issues can also result if it's too wide. Your gums can become inflamed and food particles may get stuck. A photo would be helpful. Sincerely, Dr. Reiser
