Can cog threads can be safely removed without disfiguring my face? I had 4 cog threads inserted into my face; 2 on the jaw line + 2 from corners of mouth to ears. One of the later became infected. I've been constantly on abx for infections but only resolves temporarily. Ultrasound shows hypoechogenicity + increase in color doppler signal around cog thread. "Alterations was most likely of inflammatory nature possibly due to reaction to foreign body." I was on abx when ultrasound was done.
