Is it safe to leave an implant without the crown since the implant is already hitting the top tooth?

Question

Tooth 18,19 had implantsome placed. They realize I don't have space in the back tooth to place crown and implants are to far away food will catch. Suggesting I get crown on one and leave the back one as is
