Hi, I used a teeth whitening kit with veey strong gel and uv light. It has burnt a red circle around my lips that will not heal. It has been like 3 weeks. I have tried everything from vitamin E to chapstick & moisturizer to olive oil and aquaphor, nothing seems to heal it completely. I have a swollen red circle around my mouth with cracks in the corners. Please advise

It is unfortunate that your got chemical burns.  You seemed to say two different things.  What did you have done that gave you chemical burns?  In office whitening with the light or at home whitening with the gels and trays?Usually the burns will heal with time, and it may be a few weeks or more.  Consider seeing a dermatologist.  Another thing that is being shown to greatly aide skin healing is ozone oil.  You don't need a prescription, and can get it over the web.  We have used it for a few years when having skin cuts or sores, and it seems to decrease healing time by twofold.

it will heal on its own. An anti-inflammatory like a steroid may speed it up: Medrol dose pack.
