Can I reuse a gold crown on the same tooth?

I have a perfectly good gold crown in place the dentist said is leaking at the seal in a small area. Is there any reason the crown cannot be reused rather than paying $700+ for a new one?

If your existing crown is leaking and has recurrent decay you will need to have a new one placed. There is no chance of saving the other one.  $700 is really inexpensive for a crown so consider it a great deal.  Good luck.

Unfortunately, crowns that leak as you describe cannot be reused as they won't ever ft the same.  You will have to have a crown remade.  Sorry
