I have a perfectly good gold crown in place the dentist said is leaking at the seal in a small area. Is there any reason the crown cannot be reused rather than paying $700+ for a new one?

Best material would be a Zirconia crown like Bruzxir or a Prismatic Zirconia crown ( zirconia crown with porcelain overlay). Zirconia is more opaque than porcelain and hence will cover the greyish shade from the metal posts.
