Hi, i had 2 blue tattoos that i unwisely got done on a sensitive area of my body and i want to know if i can get a second opinion on how long it will take to finish the removal process, and if theres anything i can do about the white ink that’s oxidized? They were originally dark blue and have lightened and I was quoted at least 4-5 more sessions from my tech, i have already had 5. Is this accurate? I really just want them gone

I completely understand your frustration—tattoo removal can feel like a long process, especially when it doesn’t go as quickly as expected. Blue ink is notoriously stubborn because the pigment sits deeper in the skin and often requires more laser sessions than other colors. Based on what you’ve described—having already had 5 sessions—being quoted 4–5 more sessions is within a realistic range, though it can vary depending on your skin type, the depth of ink, and how your body clears pigment.

As for the white ink that has oxidized, unfortunately once white or light inks oxidize or change color, laser removal is much less predictable. In some cases, it can darken further during treatment or be resistant to fading. There’s no guaranteed way to reverse the oxidation, though careful treatment by an experienced laser provider can sometimes minimize contrast and help the overall appearance.

Tattoo removal is often gradual, and it’s normal to feel anxious when progress seems slow. While it’s frustrating, persistence and patience with the right technology usually get the best results, even if it takes longer than initially expected.
