Hi, I'm from the Philippines and I'm 18. Female. I'm curious about this red ring rash around my mole. Is this melanoma? It did not itch, flake or bleed. it's been here for 3 days. And whenever I touch it, it stings. Is this just some sort of irritation? Or is it melanoma starting to form? What course of action would you recommend at this point? Please help. I'm worried.

The healing process is different for each individual and normally takes about 7-10 days. You can apply arnica gel on the area and it can help get rid of the swelling faster
Hello, each physician has their own protocol so I would suggest contacting your doctor if you have questions. Generally after shave excision of lesions I recommend keeping the wound covered with a topical antibiotic (like Polysporin) and a sterile bandage until it completely heals.
Many skin pathologists (dermatopathologists) classify
atypical moles or dysplastic nevi as having mild, moderate, or severe
atypia. Unfortunately this
classification system is very subjective and pathologists looking at the same
specimen will often disagree on the level of atypia.
