Is there any way to soften hard scars that developed after labiaplasty surgery??

Hello there,
Thank you for your question. Usually labiaplasty scars heal very well, but occasionally a hardened scar can develop (keloid). Ways to treat these times of hardened scars are with massage or Kenalog injections. Occasionally an excision of the scar is done if all else fails.

Thank you for your question concerning the hardening of scars two years after undergoing a labiaplasty. It's unusual for labiaplasty scars to remain hard this long after the procedure. To soften these scars, you might consider treatments such as steroid or 5-FU injections, which have proven effective in scar softening. Kenalog is another product often recommended. If these treatments do not yield satisfactory results, microneedling could be an option. In the event of severe scarring, scar revision surgery might be necessary. Please consult with your plastic surgeon for the best course of action.

Hello, Thank you for the question. 
One way to address firm and possibly keloid scars it is to inject Steroid medication called Kenalog. Sometimes scar revision can be performed as well. 
I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Labiaplasty surgeries to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations.

Hello,

I have performed many  labiaplasties for over 23 years and have not encountered 
hard scars two years after the procedure!
Did you have trouble healing?

Tissues typically soften within a few months and scars become more refined up to 7-12 months.
Firm scars in general may improve with massage and/or steroid injections.
Speak with your provider to determine the cause and nature of your firm scars to best devise a treatment plan that is most effective.
