Answer: Pain after labiaplasty There are some options for pain management, including neuroleptic medications like pregabalin or gabapentin to treat the uncomfortable location. Some surgeons inject Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) into the painful areas

Answer: Painful frenula As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques. You probably had a trimming labiaplasty, which resulted in hanging tender tips of your frenula which are irritated by clothes, sex, etc . I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about ten years ago. You may need various reconstructive techniques to eliminate your pain and give you a good appearance. I have treated many women with painful frenula, which I have resolved or improved by excising the frenula tips and suturing them down to the upper labia or scar. Approximately 40% of the surgeries I perform are revisions of other surgeons' labiaplasties. You only get one good chance to be reconstructed, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. Conservative, non-surgical treatments can help but rarely eliminate the pain completely. Gary J. Alter, M.D. Beverly Hills, CA - Manhattan, NY
