Face Shaving between Face Laser Hair Removal Sessions?

Hi there! I have been lasering my face for about 8 years now and still have some hair left. I have been told that facial hair is harder to fully get rid of compared to body hair due to hormonal reasons. During all these years, I was advised to shave my face before each session but recently I joined a new clinique to get my face laser done and the nurse told me to not shave between sessions as it caused paradoxal hair growth. Anyone heard of this before?

I feel fortunate to reply that we have never experienced those effects with any patients in our practice after 10 years of lasering. I am not sure what is going on there but it sounds like you should discontinue. Do you have any underlying health conditions that could be contributing? ...
Laser hair removal can possibly trigger a herpes outbreak. We usually prescreen for this at the consult appt and pretreat with valtrex to prevent this from happening. this does not preclude laser hair removal with proper prophylaxis. Here is a helpful link about laser hair removal.
Antibiotics are safe to use after a laser treatment. You want to refrain from being on antibiotics for a minimum of two weeks prior to a laser treatment.
