I am told that if you are more than like 10-15 lbs over weight that the Velashape will not work. IS this true? I did the Zerona but I have a condition called PCOS and it apparently prevented that from working and they said we should have done Velashape first....so now.... I'm doing it... but i Really can't handle more disappointment so before I go through another 11 treatments what are others thoughts?

There are no pictures for assessment of your problem area. We also don't know what your objective is with these treatments. Unless your PCOS was a sudden and recent diagnosis, your provider should have advised you that you will not see any fat reduction with such treatments. You are probably getting your treatment from a local "medspa" and not have seen a doctor yet. In my experience and in my opinion, such treatments do not produce any fat reduction and may be a waste of your money. Velashape may only be good for temporary reduction of the appearance of outer thigh cellulite which will require 8-12 treatments before a noticeable improvement is achieved. This will then require regular treatments to maintain the results. You need to speak to your doctor about managing your PCOS well so that it is not used as an excuse for weight gain or failure of treatment. If you want to have effective contour improvement, you will likely need to consult with a local liposuction surgeon. Of course, you can never forget healthy diet and exercise regardless of any comorbid conditions as the basis for achieving and maintaining healthy and attractive body.

In regards to PCOS and weight, your endocrinologist and primary care physician (GYN) doc can manage that successfully.There is no substitute to weight loss but Velashape III is for localized fat reduction where diet and exercise cannot get rid of ... so, it is really not "wasted" but goes along with the diet modification and exercise regimens where unwanted, stubborn, localized areas of fat are targeted. Treatment time depends on small or large areas of belly. For smaller individuals, this means 1 treatment area and once you achieve the treatment temperature of 46 degrees for 8-12 minutes, you are done. Same for the thighs/legs. For someone with a wide belly, you break it up into two treatment areas and then maintain for 8-12 minutes for each.
