Shall I get a surgery or would braces fix this? (Bimaxillary Protrusion) (photos)

Question

I am 31 and have never liked my protruding mouth and want to correct it... I am now considering plastic surgery to fix it but I had rather go through a non-intrusive procedure such as braces if they can fix the problem. I used to wear braces as a child but I could not go through the whole treatment so my teeth could never get aligned properly. What would you advise? Thank you very much!

First, Avoid anyone who wants to amputate (extract) four bicuspids to treat your case.

In my practice I would begin with a DNA Appliance to expand your narrow jaw into a wide "U" shaped arch which would reduce protrusion while increasing airway.

You currently have a 6 tooth smile and dark buccal corridors and this would produce a full wide healthy smile.  It does entail a rather large appliance (s) (removable) worn 16 hours/ day.

While your lips are protruded your chin is actually recessed and maxillary expansion will allow you mandible to advance to a more ideal position.
