I have had UC for 7 years, it's been under control for 6. I've never been hospitalized or had any complications. I've had 16 knee surgeries including PKR with no healing issues. I've never had an eye infection or any problems with my eyes.

The 'sandy' feeling that you're experiencing is due to dry eyes. It can take months for the dryness to stabilize after LASIK. I would recommend using artificial tears at least four times a day. If the symptoms do not improve, I would recommend seeing your eye doctor.
